Medicare Drug (Part D) Plans
Medicare Part D plans provide prescription drug coverage. These plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare and can help you manage the costs of prescription medications.
There are two main ways to get Part D coverage:
- Stand-Alone Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs): These plans are separate from your Original Medicare coverage (Part A and B). You can choose a Part D plan from a various private insurance companies, allowing you to tailor prescription coverage to your needs.
- Medicare Advantage Plans (Plans C) with Prescription Drug Coverage: Some Medicare Advantage (MA)_plans, often called MA-PD plans include Prescription drugs, Part D coverage. If you enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan with Part D, you do not need a separate Part D plan.
